Look at what I can do...
Okay, so I realize that this blog is a bit skimpy on Tomie. It's been more about random thoughts of her mama. Sorry folk(s). So in the spirit of what you all (all one of you) come to this blog in the first place, here's a nice powerpoint friendly, bullet point list of all the great things that Tomie is up to now that she's a big girl....
- As stated earlier, Tomie is becoming bipedal. She can cruise around her room and is beginning to stand unassisted for a good 2-3 seconds. Walking unassisted can't be far behind.
- Along with the standing and cruising, she loves climbing on top of whatever she can...boxes, toys, mommy...
- Tomie has 2 teeth and has had 2 teeth for about 2 months now. More teeth are not in sight. I worry, can she eat a steak with just 2 bottom teeth?
- Tomie has learned how to smooch. A Tomie smooch is an big open mouth gum with lots and lots of saliva. She then throws her head back while saying "MUAH!" If you are ever the lucky recipient of said smoochie, be sure to rub it in to Daddy who rarely gets them.
- She's still practicing her words. English and Japanese are a bit out of her reach at this point, but her Xhosa is coming along really well.
- But seriously...her English words are bye bye, up up (pick me up damn you), bravo, ma ma/da da (although its not clear that she really knows those two, she uses em kinda interchangeably) and mum mum (is that Pidgin? is that Japanese?)
- She's a generally happy girl, but she also DOES stick up for herself. Yikes.
- Still looooooves day care. Apparently she spends most of her time going up and down a set of stairs and leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.
- Oh and speaking of day care, it has come to our attention that Tomie has the title of "Worst Napper". We're so proud.
- Has a really strange sense of humor. Peek-a-boo kills. But perhaps the funniest thing to her now is when she offers you something and when you reach for it, she pulls it away. Hilarious.
I'm sure there are many many more things that I'm forgetting, but I'm sure papa will guest blog and fill you in on these other accomplishments. (HA!) But seriously every night after she finally plays herself down to sleep, we marvel at this miraculous little girl.
